"The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club"

Kathleen Calef, Director of Product Development for The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club™ has been passionate about artisanal cheese long before we founded this company over 20 years ago, she has led the selection process from the very start. She travels throughout the United States and internationally working closely with cheesemakers who experiment with slight changes to their process and raw ingredients to perfect their cheeses.

You’ll discover cheeses you wouldn't easily find on your own since we buy each from its place of origin; we look for Brie from the Île-de-France, north of Paris, and Leicester from English farms with small herds of pedigree Holstein cows.

Each selection is freshly cut just prior to shipping from wheels or blocks. It’s quite labor intensive and you’ll appreciate the difference it makes.

The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club's monthly newsletter includes detailed tasting notes, cheese profiles, cheesemaker histories, and serving suggestions. The more you know, the more you taste gives you more to share.

You will be able to taste learn more and enjoy:

  • Artisanal cheesemaker profiles

  • Detailed tasting notes for each featured cheese

  • Cheese histories and origins

  • Recommended serving suggestions

  • Suggested beer and wine pairings

Each month, This monthly Cheese Club selects 3 different farmhouse cheeses (about a half pound each) made from pure and natural, quality ingredients. This Club stands by every cheese they feature and know you’ll be impressed with the quality delivered to your home in each shipment.

Professional Selection Process Ensures Quality, Variety & Freshness

The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club's product selection and packaging process is the foundation of their long term success. Since the beginning they have worked with Zingerman's Delicatessen®, which has been selling artisanal cheese since 1982 and was rated the #1 Deli in the country by Zagats. Together, they look for raw milk, natural ingredient, farmhouse cheeses that you wouldn't easily find on your own and then buy each from its place of origin. . . like the Ile de France, north of Paris for they look for Brie and other cheese,. You get the drift. They know what they are doing and where to look.

Selected for prominence, creative interpretation, and quality, each selection is freshly cut just prior to shipping from huge wheels or blocks.

For Antique Emmentaler, that means breaking apart 200-pound rounds that are nearly 4 feet in diameter! Every piece has a slightly different shape and may taste slightly different from a cut taken from another part of the wheel. It is quite labor intensive, but that's what's required when dealing with the real thing.

Our strictly controlled "cheese cave" optimizes temperature, light and humidity to ensure featured selections are properly stored, tended and matured.
