Charcuterie Cheese that pairs with Merlot

Merlot is a red wine variety with historical roots in the Bordeaux region and the southwest area of France. Winemakers from France, the northern tip of Oregon, Napa Valley, the Central Coast of California to the southern borders of Chile produced incredible Merlots. This hearty red wine is similar to a Cabernet Sauvignon, but softer and less tannic with lower acidity. An early ripening variety, Merlot gives a round fruit character, soft tannins and a supple texture to the wine, contributing lively fruit characteristics and aromas of red cherries, raspberries and blueberries. On the palate, Merlot offers flavors of ripe cherry and chocolate , combined with a fleshy texture.
